What to do at Coeur d'Con 2023?
Fan Art Contest (Submissions due August 6, Voting all-day at Coeur d’Con)
Turn-in your artwork by August 6 (at midnight) to be included in our Fan Art Gallery wall. Voting starts in the library on August 10 and continues until Coeur d’Con (August 19). Winners will be announced on our website (coeurdcon.com) as soon after the event as possible.
Cosplay Contest (all-day)
Our cosplay contest will be in-person on the day-of this year! Come to Coeur d’Con between 10-11:15am to sign-up and get your picture taken in the Gozzer Room (downstairs). Voting will happen 12-2pm. Finalists will be announced at 2:30pm. The Final Cosplay Judging Ceremony will be from 3-4pm.
Local Vendors & Artists (all-day)
Support our local vendors and artists by purchasing merchandise, artwork, goodies, and finding out more about their passions and causes.
Korok Felty Friend Craft Kit (all-day, while supplies last)
Ya-ha-ha-ha! You found them! Pick-up one of our 200 crafts kits from the Library Booth, and use it to make your own “Korok Felty Friend”. Make them on site at the Library booth, or take it home to remember your time at Coeur d’Con. Each one is fully customizable and unique!
Comic Book Giveaway (all-day)
Coeur d’Con has been gifted 1000s of comic books, and we’re giving them away from the Library Booth (while supplies last)!
Pinback Button Making Station (all-day)
The Library’s Teen Zone Button-Making Station will be available at the Library Booth for you to make your own pinback buttons from the library’s withdrawn and damaged graphic novels (while supplies last).
Second Story Books (all-day upstairs in the Library’s bookstore)
Buy a Coeur d’Con t-shirt for $10, or buy one of the numerous sci-fi/fantasy books available for sale at our Friends of the Library bookstore. All proceeds go directly back to the support the Library for future events, like Coeur d’Con!
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES
Coeur d’Con Family Storytime (10 am)
Join us on the grass outside the children’s library for a SUPER special story time that’s out of this world! You can expect to sing and dance like a comic book hero and hear stories with extraordinary characters. Story time will be followed by a fun superhero-themed craft.
Fan Meetups: Demon Slayer (10:30am) + Spy x Family (11:15am)
Talk with like-minded fans of these manga and anime series, while you make paper figurines of your favorite characters!
Saturday with the Symphony (11 am)
During the library’s Coeur d’Con event, be on the lookout for the Coeur d’Alene Symphony Orchestra. They’ll be performing from the balcony, so expect to hear the brassy sound of sci-fi and fantasy favorites contributing to the fun ambiance of this pop-culture convention!
Pokémon Puzzle Race
(Sign-up 10-11:30am @ Library Booth, Race from 12-2pm in the Community Room)
Sign-up from 10-11:30 am (at the Library Booth) with a team of five (or join a random team) and compete to be the first to complete a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle (from 12-2 pm in the Community Room). All teams will be given the same puzzle. All participating teams will receive the puzzle for free, and the first team to complete their puzzle will receive the grand prize!
Free Shaved Ice (12-2 pm)
Curtis Orthodontics has graciously offered us the use of their Shaved Ice Truck. Get your free shaved ice from 12-2 pm (while supplies last)!
Make Your Own Comic with Adam Roth (TBD at Emerge Booth)
